A werefox is careful when walking to his grandmother's house for their regular visit; but in the end, he still needs to deal with the predator waiting for him in the woods.

Fortunately, a strong man with a sharp blade may be nearby to help him.

Excerpt:

Darryl was early for the public bus out of the city. He was regretting the extra time. Waiting out in public made him feel exposed. He pulled the hood of his sweater over his head and turned to consider the shopping complex behind him, watching the activity in the parking lot for a long moment before deciding to pull his phone out of his pocket.

Someone on the other side of the call picked up with a vague noise.

"Grandma?" Darryl asked.

"Of course, dear. Who else would I be?
